Windows 10: keyboard + touchpad problem

Hello, I have a problem with my keyboard and touchpad on my notebook. I reinstalled my windows and the keyboard doesn´t work, only FN+aura effects and function keys. The touchpad is combined with numeric keyboard you can turn on the numerics and use it for numbers or turn it off and use it as a touchpad, but the numbers can´t be turned off and the pad work as normal pad even there are numbers on it. In BIOS the touchpad works properly, and I think even the keyboard. I couldn´t find the drivers, so I can reinstall it. Is there any option, how to make it work please? ASUS ROG Zephyrus S 17

I would recommend you to reset the drivers for your keyboard. To reset the drivers, please follow the following steps:

1. Right click on the start button and open Device Manager.
   
2. Under Keyboards, you will find Standard PS/2 Keyboard.
   
3. Right click on it and click on uninstall.
   

Then restart your computer which will reset the drivers.



Note: If you find multiple options under keyboards, uninstall the drivers for all the options listed (only under keyboards category) and restart your computer. Also you can follow the same steps to fix the issue with your touchpad
(if it still persist). Touchpad drivers will be posted under Mice and other pointing devices.

see attached screenshot of the keys after I re ran the scan

so i assume next steps are to have that program open that you suggested whilst using the laptop and then when the touchpad gets disabled to check if the keys have changed?

I suggest you to download the latest drivers for the Touchpad from the manufacturer’s website and install it.

Also, can update the driver from the system by following the steps below.

• Press Windows key + R and type “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter.
• Right click on the touchpad drivers and select the option to update the driver and follow the prompts to update.
