    Keyboard Woes after Windows Update

My keyboard is not working correctly after my recent Windows Update. It types multiple letters, if any at all, and often does not allow for any letters to type at all. This seems to be even worse when hitting the shift keys and attempting to type.

I have done all the reinstalls of drivers, etc., that are listed in the myriad of Microsoft pages and Youtube videos. I am truly stumped by this one and cannot use my keyboard on my laptop to type. I had to attach a usb keyboard to continue to use my computer.

    I have a Dell Inspiron 5570.

Thanks to anyone for any thoughts on this one.

    :)

Keyboard not working after Windows 10 Update

    Hi,

    Have you tried updating
your mouse and keyboard driver? If not, we suggest you to do so. There is a possibility that the driver is not compatible with the new Windows 10 update. However, one
of the workarounds that we suggest for your mouse and keyboard to work is to update the driver. If the symptom persist, you can run the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter. To run the Troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    • On your search bar, type
      Troubleshooting.

    • Change the view to
      View all.

    • Choose
      Hardware and Devices
      and run the troubleshooter.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

  3. Wrong keyboard layout in login page after update to 1607

    Hi,

Since the issue reoccurred after updating to anniversary update, I suggest you to reconfigure the QWERTY keyboard layout and check if the same issue persists. This is to check if the issue is with Windows 10 1607 update.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to configure the keyboard layout:

    • Open Settings and click on Time and Language.
    • Click on Region and Language.
    • Add the Country and click on add a language and select the language of your choice.
    • This will take time to download the pack.
    • Once this is done, Press Windows key + Space and press Space key to choose the keyboard layout.
Hope it helps. Revert to us with the results, will be glad to assist you.

    Thank you.

Keyboard not working after Windows 10 Update

Have you tried updating the mouse and keyboard drivers? If not, we suggest you to do so. And if the updates are
already installed, kindly check if there is an exclamation mark in the Device Manager under the keyboard section. To check it, please follow these steps:

    • Go to
      Control Panel
      and open
      Device Manager.

    • Right-click
      on the
      Keyboard USB device.

    • If you see that there is a
exclamation mark, please post a screenshot of the error message.

We'll be waiting for your response.

    Regards.
