Windows 10: Keyboards not working with HP Laptop - keyboard driver failure code 19 after update

This is a follow-up thread to thisI have a HP laptop which was having problem mentioned in the linked thread above.Performed a clean install after deleting all partition and installed the drivers available from HP support assistant - the computer functioned fine for a day.Booted it this morning and it had automatically updated the computer, which included the seemingly problematic one. Now the keyboards of the computers are unresponsive, both the built-in one on the laptop and the USB keyboard. keyboard stopped working ! ( code 19)

keyboard on my dell laptop has stopped working. Initially device manager code was 19 , after trying to uninstall keyboard and restart code changed twice. once to code 12 then code 10. Now , it shows error code 10.

I can't type much since I am using on screen keyboard.

keyboard works fine when booting other OS. I have remix os on usb drive ,keyboard works in it.

 

Trackpad and laptop keyboard are completely disabled (Code 10 & code 19)

To preface, I was doing some homework when my laptop appeared to freeze, no keyboard inputs, no mouse inputs, couldn’t launch task manager, so I thought I’d just turn it off and on again by the power button. Big mistake.

I relaunch, and the keyboard nor the trackpad work. I’m surviving only though the use of a wireless usb mouse, and the onscreen keyboard from the accessibility centre.

I looked at the drivers, and apparently there’s a code 10 error for the keyboard, and I think a code 19 error for the mouse. I’ll list everything I’ve tried here:

Restart the laptop - didn’t work

Update drivers - they’re already up to date

Can’t backtrack drivers, there aren’t any

Delete and reinstall drivers - didn’t work

System restore - didnt work

Delete upperfilters in the registry (for code 10) - didn’t work

Most things in the device manager - nothing happened

Access the bios - I can’t (I don’t think)

Unless I’ve done all thee wrong, I don’t know what else there is to do? I’m probably sounding dramatic, but without a keyboard and mouse, how am I supposed to use my laptop?

The only other thing I know what to do is either take it to a store which may or may not help, or reinstall windows which is very dramatic.

Doing those things may make me sound like a tech wizard, I’m not especially. So does anybody have any solutions? Any walkthroughs would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

Asus Numpad Code 19 - laptop keyboard not working

So my ASUS ROG GL502V keyboard stopped working after a windows update - device manager shows warning symbol on the Asus Numpad driver with code 19 (error in registry). I have run sfc / scannow with nothing found - checked registry folder Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}
and there are no upper or lower filters to delete. Tried reinstalling drivers and made sure drivers are up-to-date. Nothing has worked. Any ideas on how to fix this please? Don't want to have to use a USB keyboard forever.
