Windows 10: Keyrings not working on Ubuntu-24.04 under wsl2

Hi all,On my last windows machine dead, now -more detail follow I ran Ubuntu 24.04 on wsl2 and on it Evolution mail mostly for sharing calendar and o on with my main pc, a linux machine. Everything was working like a charm but my windows machine decided to die suddenly and without any hope to save anything. So I set up a new machine, installed windows11, wsl2, Ubuntu 24.04.1 and Evolution on it.Now, when I try to get access to my account via Evolution-ews, I cannot login and the error reported is URL is none.local://Failed to obtain access token from address “https://login.microsoftonline

while installing wsl2 on microsoft ubuntu 22.04 this error is shown

WSL2 & Ubuntu

Hi Jennifer,

WSL is just a barebones Linux installation. There are two options - download Hyper-V and set an Ubuntu installation(if you have Pro edition) automatically, or use WSL2.

UEFI mode is a required for Windows 11 so you likely have it enabled.

In the Windows search,



type cmd, right-click it, and choose run as administrator.

Execute

wsl --install

This command would install WSL+Install Ubuntu.

Keep us posted how that goes.

 

WSL2 for windows

I have failed into installing WSL for Windows. I have read here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win.../install-win10 how to do it, and at step 4:

1. Download the latest package:
   
   • WSL2 Linux kernel update package for x64 machines
   [COLOR=var(--text)][COLOR=var(--info-dark)] Note[/COLOR]
   If you're using an ARM64 machine, please download the ARM64 package instead. If you're not sure what kind of machine you have, open Command Prompt or PowerShell and enter: systeminfo | find "System Type".

2. Run the update package downloaded in the previous step. (Double-click to run - you will be prompted for elevated permissions, select ‘yes’ to approve this installation.)
