Certain keys on my keyboard wont work when one key is held down and the other is pressed. For example, to get a capital X, I can hold down left **** and press x to get X, but this doesn't work with left shift and z. The two keys wont work together, but will seperatley. This is also the case for:z and xa and sq and w1 and 2Additionally, the tilda key the one left of one doesn't work either.I have run Windows Keyboard diagnostics, no solution, and have tried HP diagnostics, also no solution. Does anyone have any suggestions that I can try?

    :)

  2. Windows 10 Laptop Keyboard Keys Acting Strange

    Hi,

I realize that you are facing issues with the keyboard on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to the laptop to check if that helps.

Further you may also use the onscreen keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

    • Press Windows key + R to get the run window.

    • Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.

Keep us informed to help you further.

    Thank you.

Keyboard Acting Strange: Keys Acting Stuck

Keyboard acting strange since Windows 10 update

Exactly this problem that seems to happen randomly. I've asked this question before and when I got a reply, I tried all the solutions it told me to but when I tried to tell them they didn't work I never got a response again.

Why is it that nobody here knows how to fix this problem? Solutions I have tried are uninstalling my keyboard drivers, upgrading them, downgrading them, disabling sticky keys and making sure the keyboard
isn't on any power saving plan.

The link above is also not the only time I've seen someone ask it here, so if you see someone ask this, keep in mind none of the above solutions work.

Keyboard Acting Strange: Keys Acting Stuck

Forever (perhaps as early as DOS 4.0) we have been told it was an inherent problem in the BIOS. But I see it happening also in a VM where the host doesn't have the symptom too so I'm not so sure about the BIOS theory any more. In any case I say it's just
something to be aware of and learn how to deal with, as that user has done. Fortunately the keys that it happens most often with are duplicated, so the way to "unstick" one is to use the opposite one. That tactic is trickier when the keyboard has only one
of the "stuck" key (such as the Win- key--which used to have two as well). In that case, it can help to use the On-Screen Keyboard to try to toggle it into a released state.

    FYI
