Did a factory reset on my computer and reinstalled windows before the problem due to a different storage issue. Once I reinstalled windows this problem started to occur where my keyboard will just momentarily stop working or jam a character for a second and stop. It'll go away for like 5 minutes if I unplug and replug my keyboard but the problem will still happen soon after. I've already reset my computer reinstalled windows again, and I've tried using different keyboards, using it on a different computer works fine, different USB ports. Messed with uninstalling and reinstalling drivers in d

  2. Keys are "sticking" and repeating a bunch of times

Hi Earl. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Try these fixes for keys sticking and repeating:

    https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/keboard...

How to Fix Sticky Keyboard Keys (With Pictures): Easy Guide

    https://clouddropout.com/how-to-fix-mechanical-...

    https://mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk/how-to-change-th...

Here is everything else to try to fix a keyboard:

    Run the Hardware Troubleshooter:

Type CMD in Search box, Run Command Prompt as Administrator, copy and paste or type the following command followed by Enter key:

    msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic

Run the Keyboard Troubleshooter at Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.

If this began within the recent past, See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-system-r...

Check which Updates were installed at Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Installed Update History and try uninstalling any from around the time this started. If they return and cause the same problem then hide them with the Hide Updates tool: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8280-hide-s...

What also might work is to go into Device Manager, reached by right clicking the Start button, choose the Keyboard device, on Driver tab try Updating the driver automatically.

If this fails from the same location try rolling back or Uninstalling the Keyboard driver, which works in a surprising number of cases where keyboard is messed up by Updates. Restart PC to reinstall driver.

See if the On-screen Keyboard works at Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard > Turn On the On Screen Keyboard.

If the problem doesn't repeat itself in the On Screen Keyboard then it means there's a hardware issue with the key. Try cleaning the keyboard and/or removing the key to clean underneath:

    https://smallbusiness.chron.com/clean-under-lap...

    Try resetting the keyboard: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/reset-keyboard-se...

You can also remap keyboard keys using one of these methods:

Try plugging in a USB keyboard to see if it does the same thing.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.

  3. Keys are "sticking" and repeating a bunch of times

So I've been looking on the forums for a while but I can't seem to find anyone like this problem.

I got a new keyboard about a year ago and it has been doing this thing every since I got it and it has been getting worse lately. It can be when I'm gaming, writing an essay, or typing in google/bing. I'm typing and suddenly a letter, space, number, and character on my keyboard will just repeat itself for about a second and stop. It's really annoying while playing games and typing.

    Example:

So I'm typing like thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis. It does that. It doesn't matter what key it does it.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    I've restarted my computer.

    I don't think I can uninstall it.

I've tried plugging it into the computer so it's wired and having it wireless.

    Repeat Keys not Working

If the above methods didn't work, we suggest that you uninstall all keyboard drivers. For you to uninstall the keyboard, follow the steps below:

    • In the search box of Start menu, type device manager
      and then select Device Manager.
    • In the list of hardware categories, find the keyboard that you want to completely uninstall.
    • Right click on it, select Properties and then select
      Uninstall
      .
    • If the computer prompts you restart, do so.
    • If computer prompts you to restart, Windows will automatically install a generic keyboard driver.
    • Then update the keyboard drivers to the manufacturer of your device to update the latest keyboard driver.

Please keep us updated for us to assist you further.
