Windows 10: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED Blue Screen loop. No driver in error? Keeps happening, even...

A couple weeks ago, my PC experience a Blue Screen error for the very first time. The error shown was:


KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED


No driver or other error information was given... just "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED"


The BSOD would occur just as Windows was loading the login interface, but I was never able to login, before the error occurred. After a couple failed boots, it would boot into the recovery environment name is escaping me, atm. I ran every single troubleshooting option I could find in the recovery environment, but nothing worked. System Restore failed, each time it was having trouble restoring a file related to MS OneDrive. So, I did a fresh Windows install, the option given in the recovery environment. This is an HP Omen Desktop PC, and the reinstall of Windows did include all the HP software.


Now, the same BSOD error is happening again. I have been able to recover for varying amount of time, using System Restore to return to a previous state, usually 1-3 days prior.


Things I have tried:

First thing I did was test my RAM. I did a check that ran for 3-4 hours, and it tested OK. Later, I ran a test for 12+ hours, and no problem with the RAM was detected.

Next, I disabled Fast Boot in the Power Options.

I removed all antivirus, except the base Windows Defender. I also disabled Ransomware detection, just during the time I am trying to figure this out.

I updated my GPU drivers nVidia RTX 2080 GPU to use the more recent nVidia driver, not the older version given from HP Support Assist HP's system update utility.

I did my best to make sure that I have the latest Intel drivers, using their "Intel® Driver & Support Assistant" utility.


Nothing sticks out to me in the Event Viewer in the hours prior to the more recent BSOD events.

So, far, since reinstalling Windows, running System Restore seems to allow me to temporarily recover from the BSOD loops. After which, the system will seem to run fine for a few hours to a few days. Then, when just using the PC for normal activities not installing software or updating drivers the "KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" BSOD would happen again, and then it will get stuck in a BSOD loop during boot, before I can login.


I just keep the most recent System Restore to gain access to the PC again, but I need to figure this out! Any help would be greatly appreciated!


Is there any additional information I could provide, which might help someone who understands these problems better than I, help me get this resolved?

Windows 10 KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED blue screen, happens daily.

Hi,

The KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED bug check has a value of 0x0000001E. This indicates that a kernel-mode program generated an exception which the error handler did not catch.
