  1. KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED - Help Please


    My computer keeps crashing with the blue screen error: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. I used WinDbg to analyze the minidump file and it came back with: FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: AV_nt!KiDispatchException. How do I resolve this problem?

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. I understand the inconvenience you are facing. I will certainly help you with this.

    KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED - due to an unhandled access violation caused by an invalid memory location or invalid Intel drivers issue.
    I suggest you to follow the below given methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

    If you suspect a computer has a memory problem that isn’t being automatically detected, you can run the Windows Memory Diagnostics utility by completing the following steps:

    • Press Windows key + R, type mdsched.exe in the Run, and then press Enter.
    • Choose whether to restart the computer and run the tool immediately or schedule the tool to run at the next restart.
    • Windows Memory Diagnostics runs automatically after the computer restarts and performs a standard memory test automatically. If you want to perform fewer or more tests, press F1, use the Up and Down arrow keys to set the Test Mix as Basic,
      Standard, or Extended, and then press F10 to apply the desired settings and resume testing.
    When testing is completed, the computer restarts automatically. You’ll see the test results when you log on.

    Method 2:

    Reinstall the Intel driver in compatibility mode

    Though you have installed Intel driver numerous times and it didn’t helped. The issue could have occurred due to the drivers installed not being compatible with Windows 10.

    In order to use the drivers which are designed or developed for a different Operating System, we need to install them in compatibility mode. Please follow the steps below to uninstall the network driver:



    • Press Windows Key + R.
    • Type devmgmt.msc and hit Enter.
    • Right click on the all the Intel drivers
      and select Uninstall.
    To install the drivers in compatibility mode, follow the steps below:



    • Right click on the setup file (downloaded from PC manufacturer’s site) of the driver and select
      Properties.
    • Select Compatibility Tab.
    • Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the
      operating system accordingly from the drop down list
    • Click OK and run the setup.
