    Kodi

    Hi John,

Kodi media center is an award-winning free and open source cross-platform software media player and entertainment hub for digital media for HTPCs (Home theater PCs).

For verification, is your PC running on Windows 8.1? Furthermore, did you receive an error message when you tried to use Kodi?

As for the compatibility, Kodi version 17.1's minimum system requirements are:

    OS
    Windows 10

    Architecture
    x86

    DirectX
    Version 9

    Memory
    2 GB

    Video Memory
    1 GB

    Touch
    Not specified

    Keyboard
    Not specified

    Mouse

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Kodi BSOD

You state that this is a Kodi BSOD - does it only occur when using Kodi?
The BSOD's seem to point to video problems.

From a search of the Kodi website, wiki, and forums - there doesn't seem to be much (if any) testing on Windows 10.
I did see previous BSOD issues when using the Kodi webserver.
Also, most of the releases seem to be beta versions - so you're using a beta player on a beta OS. IMO that's not a good recipe for a stable platform.

Ensure that you have ALL available Windows Updates.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.
Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking. Please uninstall PowerDVD as it's driver dates from 2011 (ntk_PowerDVD12_64.sys).
Please uninstall Cyberlink software - as the 000.fcl driver dates from 2008 (also the CLBStor.sys and CLBUDF.SYS drivers date from 2008).

You may also want to remove the Gigabyte On/Off Charger (AppleCharger.sys) as it previously had BSOD issues (though I haven't seen any from it in a long time).

We have seen BSOD problems with older drivers for the USB modem (tap0901.sys) in Windows 8/8.1. I'd suggest physically removing the device and uninstalling it's software in order to test this.

I'd also update your bluetooth drivers. Older bluetooth drivers (from Win8) caused BSOD issues in Win8.1 Your drivers date from 17 Oct 2013 (the date that Win8.1 was released), so they may/may not be compatible.

Finally, I'd continue to update your video drivers. AMD states that Win10 specific drivers aren't needed - but it can't hurt to update to the latest version in case bug fixes have been released.

PS - you may want to test your video card (on the off chance that it may be a hardware/video memory problem).
