Windows 10: KVM not recognizing PC1 monitor

I have a kvm for my work laptop and home desktop. When I switch to home desktop pc2, the monitors work fine. When I switch to the work laptop pc1, one of the monitors occasionally doesn’t register it’s always the same monitor that does not register. Typically, unplugging things and replugging several times seems to fix the issue I don't know if the order of unplug and re-plug matters. It's a bit unpredictable when it'll not work. Is this something others have encountered? Is there a permanent fix? thank you!

just bought a new home computer. have a work computer and home computer wired through KVM switch. Monitor works fine when hard wired to computer, not when through KVM?

how do I update driver for KVM? is that what is needed?

This KVM switch might not be compatible with the latest windows.

Try contacting the KVM vendor and see if they know what version of Windows works with their switch.

Monitor not detected (when via KVM)

I have an HDMI KVM 2*1 Switch (DC powered)
I connect my PC to one port and it switches through to monitor fine.
Mouse & keyboard via USB work fine.
I have tested on both port PC1 and PC2 to make sure OK.

I then connect my new Laptop (Dell Latitude 7390)
Mouse & keyboard work to it fine, but no video feed to monitor.
If I connect Laptop direct to monitor it works fine, so I have been able to prove all cables are good, and Laptop HDMI socket.

If I go to settings on Laptop …. It does not detect a monitor when connected to the KVM.
If I plug direct into monitor it works (and is detected)

This is the same on PC1 or PC2.

My PC works fine to either port ….. assumption is something is blocking Dell laptop from seeing monitor connected.

I have 2 identical KVM switches …both proven OK .. both have same issue with this Dell laptop
Assume it's related to EDID pass through on KVM ..... but strange other PC/Laptop work OK
