Windows 10: Labels Misaligned from a PC

Hi,


I hope that someone can shed some light on this issue as I have looked through many of the label printing issues that have been noted here and also tried as much as I can, but I still have an issue.


For several years we have been using Windows10 on a Dell PC (let's call it PC1) and an HP Envy 5540 series printer for printing labels - this has worked without any problems since day 1.


We recently purchased a new Dell PC (PC2) to replace PC1 and it is this PC that has the issue.


When I use PC2 to print labels using either the Avery templates within Word or downloading the Avery templates, the alignment (both vertical and horizontal) soon becomes skewed so I have half a sheet of labels that I can use. Using PC1 for printing the same labels is still fine.


The label templates used on both PCs are the same as are the versions of word and the HP printing software. The page and printer properties are also identical on both PCs, yet printing the same file on the same printer from PC2 produces a poorly formatted sheet.


I eventually tried printing the same label file on a blank sheet of paper from PC2. If I look at the alignment of that output and compare it to the A4 sheet of labels, it is aligned perfectly.


I am struggling to understand this scenario, as logic would indicate the printer might be at fault, but why should the misalignment only affect PC2; surely if the printer was faulty, neither PC would print correctly.

PC Build Steps

Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval

• Install system in case
  • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
• Turn on PC
• setup HDD
• run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
  • run realtemp at the same time

• While in Prime95 test
  • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
  • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
  • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!

What do you guys think??

1) Since when have you been experiencing the issue? Does the issue only occur when printing labels?

2) Did you made any changes to the PC?

3) Provide us the make and model number of the printer and your PC.

4) Does the label alignment appear correctly in print preview?

1. What is the make and model number of the Printer?
   
2. Since when are you facing this issue?
   
3. Have you made any changes to settings prior to this issue?
   
4. Which version of Windows is running on your device?
   

You may try the below suggested steps.

1. Go to devices in Settings
   > Double click on the printer > Click on
   Printer Properties > Go to Advanced tab.
   
2. You will see “Printing Defaults”. Click on it and set the option from the drop down menu and click on
   OK and check the status of the issue.
