  1. Lag after Closing a "Heavy" Video Game

I have a HP Laptop with Windows 10 Home installed.

    PC Specs:

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3500u

    Ram: 8GB 4GBx2

GPU: Vega 8 iGPU 1 GB Vram

    Storage: 1 TB HDD

So when I play a "Heavy" game game having high requirements like GTA V, Outlast 2; it runs perfectly but when I close the game the OS Becomes Sluggish for about 5-8 seconds 5-6 Usually and then it goes back to normal, I dont need to restart the system to fix the lag.

But when I close a "light" game, I encounter no issues

A possible reason according to me could be that,

When Idling, the Ram usage in Task Manager is 41-42% but after closing the game is goes down to 30-32% so as the games require more ram, windows eliminates unnecessary apps temporarily and when I close the game, OS re-loads the apps back and while that's happening, my PC Becomes sluggish.

But as I'm not too expert and a lazy troubleshooter, I want to ask my fellow community members that if its fine or not and if not, please provide me a solution.

    :)

  3. Lag after Closing a "Heavy" Video Game

The cpu temps are 65-68°C and GPU is 70°C while gaming (checked using MSI Afterburn)

And while gaming, the game runs perfectly fine and I don't get any Input Lag or Freezing

And my PC is already on Maximum Performance Mode

When My PC Boots, I dont get 100% HDD usage. Very rarely I see 90% so I dont think so that these are Startup apps issue.

And yeah, except "Realtek WOWL Utility" and Malwarebytes Anti Virus everything is disabled already.

I also have never seen my ram usage more that 88% (88% was while playing GTA V)

And It also doesn't max out after closing game instead, drops to 30-32% while idling for sometime and then it goes back to 40s again after a minute

I can try the clean boot, if you still recommend it.

Will inform you as soon as i do the method 1 & ram check.

Thanks for the heads up. Lag after Closing a "Heavy" Video Game :)

EDIT: I Also wanted to ask you that could it be a file system corruption or some other OS Corruption?

You can also try clean boot, moreover I actually experience the same issue as before, and I'm sure it should run smoothly with your specs, but one thing I noticed is the HDD, with the lower specs I have I can run GTA Smoothly but the difference is that
I install it in SSD for faster loadup, making the game process more, though we all know the SSD is making huge difference when running task.

In addition, we may need to isolate the OS problem, the only thing that makes the OS slower is the Windows Defender task (antimalware service executable) and Windows update if there is, for us to repair all OS issues follow the steps below, but make sure to
    backup all your files.

If none will work from the above solution I suggest to do an in-place upgrade wherein it will upgrade the device to the latest version and repair all issues without deleting any files.

Note: before doing this make sure to create a restore point:

    3. On the License terms page, if you accept the license terms, select Accept.

    4. On the What do you want to do? page, select Upgrade this PC now, and then select Next.

    5. After downloading and installing, it should fix the issue.

Note: if you receive error: “This Pc can’t be upgrade, follow the steps below”

Method 1. Go to C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther then delete the file name compatscancache.dat

Then try again or reboot the PC first then try again.

You might not see the folder as it is hidden, make sure to show hidden files first.

Hope this helps you a lot, and let me know if you have further questions Lag after Closing a "Heavy" Video Game :)
