Windows 10: Lag Mouse on new desktop PC

Never had this problem before. Tried a bunch of recommendations found online, some of them that went deep in the system, but nothing worked. Last thing I tried was to try and move the mouse away from the wifi router but that also did nothing. Not sure if just mouse or other wireless peripherals that would lag. Haven't tried. Don't have any. Don't know if mouse is bluetooth or wireless connected. It's through a usb dongle.Don't know if it's a Windows problem, so, sorry to bother if it isn't. But my Windows 10 laptop that I used before this desktop never had this problem.Any help is appreciated.

Mouse Lag On Some Desktop Applications

I built a brand new, custom PC with some of the following hardware/software:

• ASUS X99 Sabertooth motherboard
• 2x EVGA GEFORCE GTX 980 TI in SLI
• Corsair Gaming M65 RGB Laser Gaming Mouse
• Windows 10 Pro x64
• Visual Studio 2015 Pro

For the most part, my mouse is buttery smooth when interacting with Windows.

However, some desktop applications, Visual Studio 2015 Pro for example, cause the mouse to lag as if the video card was running in very low FPS. This is true for the SONOS sound system desktop application and some others.

All my drivers are up to date and everything is working wonderfully except for this limited scenario.

 

Mouse Lag!?!

Basically what it does is remove the mouse acceleration in XP. The mouse will feel slower at first, but eventually you'll get used to it... the only reason why I suggested the mouse fix was because mouse acceleration sometimes causes the sensation of having a laggy mouse (laggy meaning responding slowly). If you meant lag as in jumping around and generally not being responsive, then I guess you'll need to wait for more suggestions *Smile

I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have tried to resolve the issue. I suggest you to install all pending Windows updates and check. Follow the steps below and check if that helps.

• Type Mouse and Touchpad Setting in Search and hit
  Enter.
• Change settings as per your requirement; click on Advance mouse options.
• Change settings under Buttons, Points, Pointer options, Wheel.
