Windows 10: Lags, crashes and stucked in loading when USB-mic/ capture card is plugged in

I recently bought an XPS with a fresh Windows 10 install. I quickly found out that when I have my USB-mic or my capture card using a DSLR as Webcam plugged in, certain things become laggy, crash or just don't load. Without the USB-mic/ capture card plugged in, everything is fine.For Example: when I want to open the sound settings, it just doesn't fully load and is stucked in the 'blue background white gear'-view when my USB-mic is plugged in. The same goes for the capture card. If I unplug those, the sound settings load perfectly fine....When I have the cam plugged in and someone calls m

USB Mic Problems.

The next step is what I suggested originally. Try it in a friend's PC or take it to Best Buy and ask them to try it one of their PC's. Have to confirm the mic is working OK.

To understand the issue better, I would like to know do ‘’when you say update’’ do you refer to November update (Windows 10 Version 1511)?

Let’s try simple troubleshooting steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I recommend you to uninstall/reinstall the capture card driver and check. Follow the below steps:

  Press Windows key + X and click on
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Locate for the device (Capture card) and click on it to expand.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  

Go to the capture card manufacturer website, download and install the latest capture card driver.

windows problems with usb mic

windows thinks my usb mic are speakers. i have tried different usb plugs, uninstalled it and re loaded drivers still a usb play back device called mic. it shows no input when watching the level meter and will not work with any programs
