How is Windows 10 magically installing the older driver now? I tried and it doesn't work for me.

With my Asus, I have the problem with the Realtek Ethernet card but with my Qualcomm Atheros AR9485WB-EG wireless Network adapter it works good (but I don't want to use Wifi).

BTW (with my Realtek Ethernet Card Under W7) :

  3. I may have found a solution to the problem. I was pulling my hair out for quite some time trying to determine why I had internet initially and then would disconnect shortly after startup/wake-up.

Essentially, I determined the root cause of the problem to actually be the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service. If you open your task manager, locate "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service" under "Background Processes" under the "Processes" tab. Expand it by clicking the arrow on the left hand side to show the active service. Right click the process with the gear icon and select "Open Services". From there find the service called "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service". Right click the service and select "Properties". For start-up type select "Disabled"; it is probably set as "Automatic - Delayed Start". Then, close that window. Finally, right click the service again and select "Stop".

Hopefully this works for some as it did for me. Currently I am still using Windows 10 and I have not messed around with the LAN drivers whatsoever.

I don't even seem to have that service running so that's not my problem. This is purely a driver incompatibility issue. I gave up and got a usb to ethernet adapter and it works without issue and honestly seems faster than my onboard Realtek PCIe controller. I'm working with Realtek tech support now to try and resolve the problem. It appears Broadcomm have driver issues as well with Windows 10.

Please keep us updated in this thread. It seems you have been unlucky. How did you get in touch with Realtek?

They provided contact information on their website. They did send me a new driver to test, I'm having trouble logging into their FTP site to get it though. Will post an update.

  9. That's true, but, from what I know, no one has tried my second solution yet.

The big update for Windows 10 today (SR1) appears to have resolved the issue.

@nemesis : Hi ! The problem is not a slow connection, it is a sporadic connection... Do you loose your connection ? Or do you just have a slow connection ? Thank you
