    LAN/FTP connections slow and unreliable

Hey, I'm on windows 10 Pro, ver 1903 build 18362.657. I'm having issues with my android apps detecting apps and services on windows over local WIFI. I'm using a wifi USB adapter.

    Things I've tried :

    * Allow through firewall, even disabled firewall to test no luck. I don't use any other firewall or anti-virus.

    * Power management on Wifi adapter set to NOT save power from device manager

    * Power plan set on high performance It's a gaming build

    * Server in windows services set on automatic it was already like that

    * Change ports for wifi adapter

    * Reinstall wifi adapter

    * Wifi connection set to Private

    * Network discovery and File and Printer sharing enabled

    * I've a constant LAN IP reserve for my pc in the router.

When I had a fresh installation, all the apps could detect windows within a second. I had to create a new administrator account because I wanted to change my %user% folder name and since then apps are either detecting windows too late or not at all. Especially if windows has been running for quite a while, they fail to detect. Restart seems to fix it for some apps.

    Examples of issue :

    * Unified Remote either takes too long or doesn't find it at all. After a restart works wonderfully for some time.

    * MSI Remote Display used to control monitor settings from Android rarely ever finds it. Sometimes it does which seems to mean it's not an issue with driver or anything. Before new account, it could detect instantly everytime.

    * LAN connection using SMB 2.0 for file transfer is as unreliable.

    :)

  3. Unable to establish an FTP connection

I have been unable to successfully make an FTP connection to a server using an FTP client in Windows 10. With FileZilla, I get the error message

"Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity

    "Could not connect to server"

    and with Cyberduck, I see

    "Connection failed

"Connection timed out: connect. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down, or your network may not be properly configured."

The connection is to allow me to manage a website, and I have done it many times, including I think from this Windows 10 computer.

The Network Diagnostics in Cyberduck simply said:

    "Troubleshooting couldn't identify the problem"

    I’ve done the following

    • checked the Cyberduck and FileZilla settings and procedures against their help pages
    • contacted the webhost, who confirmed that there is no problem their end and I should have access
    • tested the connection for myself with www.net2ftp.com
    • contacted my broadband supplier, who confirmed that there are no issues with the router that may affect FTP
    • added Cyberduck and FileZilla to the exclusions in
      • Windows Defender
      • Malwarebytes
      • Windows Firewall
I can’t think of anything else. Any suggestions?

    FTP connection

I cannot connect to FTP thru Filezilla or Dreamweaver Cs6. I have allowed FTP in windows firewall. I've tried several settings in Dreamweaver. My host site says the settings are ok. Can anyone offer any other suggestions.
