    Language Pack Update Notifications

I run a number of student computer labs and classrooms. All are running W10 1803 Enterprise 64-bit. We were asked to add language packs to the last image which we did but now we are getting numerous complaints of language pack updates being installed at all times. It used to be these updates came via Windows Updates (which in our case is WSUS) but recently they started updating through the Microsoft Store. The problem is the language pack update notifications take over a third of the screen (right side) and announce they are finished through a loud Ding and in some cases a Cortana announcement in the language being updated. As you can imagine this is very intrusive. Compounding the issue is we are using Deep Freeze so the updates apply but are not permanent and the machine will attempt to install updates again later. If the update happens to occur during our weekly Thawed maintenance window the machine will be all set but unlike Windows Updates, I can't control when updates are downloaded/installed from the store.

I'd like to stop this from happening, preferably via GPO and have seen several options.

    1. Block Access to the Microsoft Store

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Store - Turn off the Store application = Enabled

    2. Turn off Notifications

Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Start Menu and Taskbar - Remove Notifications and Action Center = Enabled

Has anyone run into this issue and if so, what did you do? Any recommendations as to which approach to take?

    Thanks!

    :)
