Windows 10: Language Preferences and Keyboards Bugged

I have a somewhat baffling issue. I have to use more than 10 different input methods for typing in different languages on my home PC and Surface since I need them for work. My devices share their keyboards due to my account synchronising. Though the device language is always set to English Australia, my default keyboard layout sometimes switches to Hungarian or any other language layout. I am unable to uninstall them from my surface, and I have uninstalled them from my PC multiple times, but they keep installing themselves somehow. Currently, there is no language package installed other than

Windows10 20H2 Language preferences bug?

Hi,
Please see attached pic.
After installing the last update (20H2) I got an additional language (ENG UK) which I can't get rid of:
As you can see, the ENG UK option is listed on my taskbar but can't be found under the installed keyboards.
Any remedy?

Language/Keyboard default

Hi Sandra,

You can try these steps to set up your preferred defaults:

• Go to Settings and click Time & Language.
• Click Region & Language.
• Click on your default system language then, click Options.
• Click Add a keyboard then choose your preferred keyboard language.
• Remove the other keyboard language by choosing it then click Remove.

Hello,

Assuming you want to use English (United States) as your preferred language, try these steps

1. Right click Start Button or press Windows + X keys and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).

2. In the administrative Windows PowerShell window, type these commands one-by-one and press Enter key after each:

Get-WinUserLanguageList

This will display list of installed languages on your machine. Note the LanguageTag for your preferred language.

$1=New-WinUserLanguageList <LanguageTag>

Replace <LanguageTag> for your preferred language. For example, if your preferred language is English (United States), then you can use $1=New-WinUserLanguageList en-US.

Set-WinUserLanguageList $1

After this, when opted, type Y to confirm setting preferred language. Close Windows PowerShell and you're done.
