Windows 10: Language Settings / Region - Microsoft Store & Loudspeaker Control

Hello,


I have a bit of a sightly mind-blowing concern regarding the language settings on my hp 14 laptop with regards to local regional settings.


For those who are clearly more experienced please please bear with me - thanks !

• I live in Belgium where there are 3 languages spoken - French, Flemish & German the first two being the prominent.
• My laptop language is set to English UK.
• For some reason some of the settings "inherit" local/regional language settings.

There are:


1. Loudspeaker Control Language Settings:


Please see below the two screen "snippings" were the loudspeaker is referred by the FlemishDutch term:








2. Microsoft Store Settings:


Again please see below the screen "snipping" were the Store is referred to with partial French language settings when i have selected English - this is highlighted in yellow:




It's a bit odd to say the least !


I'd appreciate some feedback/assistance !

Resetting language and regions

• Did you get an error after resetting the language and region?
• In which language and region are you trying to reset it to?

Language Settings - Windows Store, Xbox App etc

In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.

1. Are you aware of any changes made to this computer prior to the issue?
   
2. What is the version of your Windows 10 computer? (To check the version of your Windows 10, you can refer
   See which version of Windows 10 you have).
   

Meanwhile, I suggest you to change the language from Control Panel by following the below steps.

1. Go to Control Panel > Click on
   Clock, Language, and Region > Click on Language.
   
2. Then, under Change your language preferences, remove all the additional languages that you don't want to use and move the
   English language to the top.
   
3. After making the above changes, restart the computer once and check if the Microsoft Store is in English.

Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region


I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.

Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

1. Go to Settings.
2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
3. Select add someone else on this PC.
4. Enter a user name and hit next.
5. Click on Finish.
6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.
