Windows 10: Laptop audio keeps cutting out and is detecting unknown audio device(s)

Whenever I'm watching something or listening to music on my laptop, the audio cuts out for seconds at a time, usually lasting about 2 minutes until it starts happening again 2 minutes later. When I go to check what's going on in the Volume Mixer, instead of just displaying my default audio device - Speakers (Conexant ISST Audio) - it shows another device that it keeps switching to - Headphones (Conexant ISST Audio) - sometimes it even displays 2 Headphone options. But the thing is, I have nothing connected to the laptop, I don't use headphones with it and not even the AC adapter is connected. I've tried to manage the different audio devices and disabling the unknown headphone/s but it still doesn't prevent the audio from cutting out.

Yet sound is turned off. I can look at this dialog box as well:

So, after upgrading to Windows 10, my computer no longer detects any audio devices.

Device manager only detects nvidia hd audio
Playback devices only detects nvidia hd audio

After installing realtek drivers, realtek is nowhere to be found - no icon in system tray, no realtek device in device manager etc.

USB headphones work fine, just dont have any support for rear panel audio jacks, have disconnected front panel audi connector, installed fress win10 copy, still nothing

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below steps.

  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.

  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on Next button.
  

If the issue still persist try the below steps:

Method 2.

I recommend you to update the audio driver and check if it helps.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Audio input and output and right click on it and
  update the driver.
• For the video issues try the below method.

Method 3.

Also I suggest you to update the display driver and let us know the status.

• 
  Press Windows Key + R and type
  devmgmt.msc in the box and hit Enter.
  
• 
  Locate and Expand the Display Adapter driver.
  
• 
  Right Click on the Display Device.
  
• 
  Click on update.
