Windows 10: Laptop Battery Lost 55Wh in Capacity Overnight

Hello,Last night I was using my Asus ROG STRIX II laptop just fine. This afternoon, when I started it, the battery instantly died on me.I have not done anything new or even touched the laptop when the battery degradation thing happened.I usually have the laptop plugged in when being used, and off the plug at night when it's off. I also have plenty of peripherals connected.Recently, the only things that have changed are that I've purchased a new mic and connected it, and recently updated my Windows 11 version.I'm suspecting that it may be a Windows problem or a dying battery problem. 0% battery capacity lost?

Hello there,

I have had my HP laptop for just over a year now (Product Number: P0S78EA#ABU), so I decided to see how my battery was holding up. I do quite a bit of gaming with my laptop, when I do this I always have it on charge with the battery in. This makes it quite
warm and often remains at 100% whilst I'm playing. For this reason I thought that it must have lost quite a high % of capacity over the year.

When I checked the windows battery report, the design capacity and full charge capacity were exactly the same.





I don't understand how this is, I've had the battery for around a year now and I haven't really been taking proper care of it. Could this be something wrong with the battery report? According to the report my battery has list 0% capacity.

The report is for the right battery because the recent usage matches the times I've been using it, and it's the only battery in the laptop. Speaking of recent usage...





I don't understand why it says I have 103% capacity there.

Thanks for reading, if somebody has an explanation for any of this it would be great to here it. It is not a problem with my laptop, the battery report results just don't make sense to me. Thanks!

Acer battery won't charge

What if the battery unremoveable? Should I disassemble and remove it? also there is a switch underneath the case and around the RAM slot that prevent the laptop to turn on when the case is open and without the charger. Is that the same as removing the battery? although when turned on with charger, the laptop still see the battery. Thanks

I took the report, the design capacity was 41.440 mWh but full charge capacity is now 25.752 mWh. Is it that bad? Before this happened I believe HWMonitor also show the same number with 38% Wear Level.

1. Shutdown your laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Connect the AC power adapter to your laptop.

4. Power on the laptop

5. Open the Device Manager by typing Devmgmt.msc into Start Menu or from Control Panel.

6. Under the Batteries category, right-click all of the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery listings, and select Uninstall (it’s okay if you only have 1).

7. Shutdown the laptop.

8. Insert the battery.

9. Power on the laptop.

If above suggestions wont resolve the battery charge issue then follow below steps.




Step 2

1. Shutdown the laptop.

2. Remove the battery.

3. Start the laptop with only AC adapter connected to laptop.

4. When you login to Windows OS connect the battery while Windows OS working.
