Windows 10: Laptop BSOD when gaming

Hi! I've been getting a BSOD error every time I play any game or stress test my GPU.

My pc is a HP gaming laptop with 8th gen i5, GTX 1050TI, 8GB of RAM and 1TB HDD with Intel Optane acceleration.

Whenever I game it crashes with the error code WHEA uncorrectable error. I have run chkdsk, checked RAM and it all seems to be in order. I did a clean windows reinstall but still crashes.

BSOD When playing games

Please share the information requested below:

• Does the BSOD occur while playing a particular game?
• Is the game downloaded from Windows Store?

I suggest you to update the Graphic Card drivers by following the steps provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X, select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapters.
• Right click on the driver and select Update Driver Software.
• Follow the on-screen prompts to update.

Laptop BSOD in Games

My friend have an ASUS G60VX Laptop with these specs

Windows 7 64 Bit
Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 @ 2.13 Ghz
4 GB RAM
GeForce GTX 260M 1GB

no overclocks

He cannot run most 3D games in fullscreen (e.g. Call of Dutys, Battlefield 3, NBA 2k12).

as soon as he starts it. 98% of the time it automatically goes into BSOD.

however when he sets it to windowmode. It suddenly runs fine, but after sometime of playing(depends on the game). it goes into BSOD.

In short.
fullscreen. -> 98% of the time BSOD as soon as it starts.
windowmode -> will run fine but later will still result in a BSOD.

He said the BSOD contains 0x00000116 and the file nvlddmkm.sys.

so I concluded that it was his drivers and just do a clean driver install.

He did reinstall drivers and it didnt work.

He tried reformatting the laptop. but to no avail. still BSOD?!!?!

could someone help me? Is his Lappy overheating??? If its overheating then why did the BSOD displayed the file nvlddmkm.sys

He can't play BF3 properly every other round his laptop would just go into BSOD(he can definitely run it with good frame rates though)

 

Best laptop under $800??

Well the last one I suggested seems to be the best for 650$
