Windows 10: Laptop charges only up to 60%

Hello,

I have a Lenovo IdeaPad G510, and when I bought it came with a software called Energy Manager, which allowed me to use an option that limited the charging percentage to 60 in order to extend battery life.
Now, after the Windows 10 update, the software is gone and instead I get a software called "Power Manager", which does not have this option, so I am stuck with battery at 60%.

Does anyone know what should I do ?

laptop battery wont charge to 100%

I recently got a new laptop and i have noticed that the battery does not charge to 100% it only goes up to 60%

once its at 60% it shows its connected but it says "not charging"

Im not sure it is a setting and can change how much the battery can be charged or if i got a faulty battery

My laptop is a Lenovo G51 and is running on Windows 10

 

How can I disable Power Mode on Windows 10?

I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 and Battery only charges up to 60%. What do I have to do so the battery can charge to 100%?

 

If I remember correctly, the name change to conservative mode or something.
If not, can you post the screenshot?

 

Maybe try the Lenovo site for a download. I did an in-place W10 upgrade and Energy Mgr still works.

Nothing happens when after I download and press it :/

 

"download and press it"???? Do you mean double click on the downloaded file?
You should have got cagt26ww.exe when you downloaded.
When you double click on it, it should extract files then start the install.

 

Well this also happen to me
The new windows 10 installer(after extracted) of energy management will do nothing. So I'm now using windows 8.1 driver

Laptop batteries do eventually wear out and need to be replaced.

However before you do that download ANY decent Live Linux Distro (you can run it from the DVD / external USB stick) without touching your internal Windows HDD and simply see if the laptop charges up more than 60% using the Linux OS.

It's probably your battery though - probably gone defective.

I don't have a Lenovo but if the program still shows the program being listed as being installed you might want to run the repair function if it is available for that program. High lite the program and see if it is listed. Have you tried completely draining your battery till your computer turns off and then fully recharge it before use (The calibration might be off). There might be other Lenovo Models that use that program and you might be able to get it from those other models listings of programs.

From some reason, last time I downloaded the cagt26ww.exe, it would do nothing, or stuck the laptop.
But now I replaced the file and it installed it!
The software looks different than the Energy Manager I had on Windows 8.1, but at least it has the battery saver option, and it charges to 100% again *Smile
