Windows 10: Laptop cursor stops working randomly

I don't know if anyone has posted the same question, but I haven't seen anyone who's described my exact issue before. Randomly, without warning, my mouse cursor stops moving entirely and I have to turn off my laptop and turn it back on. I've noticed that when I plug in a mouse externally, it continues working on there, but not on the mousepad. I personally prefer the mousepad, and my mouse is starting to break, so I'm worried about what I should do. I haven't noticed any pattern in when this happens, other than that it may be more likely when I enter a textbox. Any suggestions?

Laptop keyboard randomly stops working.

My laptop keyboard randomly stops working. The only way to get it back to work is by a hard reset (press the power button to shut off the laptop or navigate in the system and press shut down). The it will work for an undetermined amount of time (it could be few minutes, hours, days or even week) and then randomly stop working again. Sometimes it happens multiple times a day. I have the BIOS updated to the latest version. Any suggestions how I can fix this problem as it is extremely frustrating.

My laptop is Dell XPS 9380. I contacted Dell and they want to replace the keyboard. It is clearly not a hardware issue. Please advise if there is a way to fix this problem.

 

Mouse stops working randomly .

My mouse stops working randomly however the scroll wheel works everytime but the cursor would stop responding randomly and starts working again and again.
