Windows 10: Laptop display color periodically changes contrast when on battery

The laptop's display maintains constant brightness and contrast when connected to power, but when unplugged, starts to shift.The shift takes about 10 seconds, happens every 5 minutes or so, and makes the display colors looks lighter and faded.The display brightness option within Windows the slider however is unchanged in the process.Any settings related to adaptive brightness/contrast in power settings, Intel graphics settings, Windows settings have been disabled.This problem does not occur in safe mode.This problem occurred when rebooting the laptop after disabling all non-Microsoft service

What type of Monitor are you using ?

As we don`t know i can only offer some suggestions.

• Make sure its set at True Color ( 32 Bit ) in the Control Panels Display settings.

Go to Start Menu.

Type in Display and select it from the drop down.

In the right hand pane select Change Display Settings and open it.

Click the blue link called Advanced settings.

Click the Tab called Monitor to make sure its set to True Color 32 bit.

• Try using the Monitors Function Buttons to change the Brightness and Contrast.

Try between the Natural / Warm @ Cool settings that most Monitors support within their function buttons.

• If using a installed Graphics Card make sure you have the Drivers Installed.

Some Graphics Cards support changing Brightness and Contrast in their Control Panel.

Still, i suggest you do this with the Monitors Function Buttons first to see if this sorts out the issue.

• You could also try the Windows 7 Calibrate Display Color.

Go to Start Menu.

Type in Calibrate display color and open it .

Click the Next Button down in the bottom right hand.

Follow its Instructions through to the end.

How to reset the display settings, color resolution, basically everything to do with color?

Oh I see. Well to set the resolution, you can right-click wallpaper and choose Display Settings. I'd make sure your resolution is set to the native/recommended resolution that actually matches how many pixel dots your screen really has.

But then the color settings, I'd try this:

• Go to Settings > System > Display. Scroll down and choose the Display Adapter Properties link.
• Go to the Color Management tab, and click the Color Management button.
• Go to the Advanced tab, and click the Calibrate display button.

If that still doesn't get it back, I'd also try this:

• Click Start to show your Start menu, type "clear" into the keyboard and choose the "Adjust ClearType Text" option.
• Follow this tool to tune your display more.

Beyond that, the next steps are usually to use either the display's buttons to adjust the contrast/brightness. Although if you're on a laptop, those buttons may not exist. The laptop builder might have some software for their machine, but it varies around
by builder.
