Windows 10: Laptop display colour fades and becomes dull after BIOS factory setting reset

Product: HP Probook 450 G4
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 October 2018 update (64-Bit)

After factory resetting the BIOS settings, the laptop display colour faded to unpleasant shades of each and every colour that it displays, is dark and colours appear to be washed out. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the intel HD graphics 620 graphics from HP but it does not fix the problem. Booted in Safe mode but no changes and I even rolled back the BIOS but still no change. Night light and colour filter are both turned off

Faded display colour on startup

Hey there,

I recently purchased asus vivobook s15 (windows 10 home pre installed), I am using it for 3 months and it's running fine. But today I decided to reinstall windows 10, so before reinstalling I taken a photo of all the softwares and drivers which are installed
on my laptop, then I reinstalled window 10, after installation of all the drivers and Windows update I shutdown my laptop, two hours ago I opened it and noticed that the display colours are faded then after 10 seconds they go back to normal. I checked all
the drivers but all the drivers are upto date. But this problem happen all the time I turn on my laptop.

Please someone help me out because it never happened before.

 

Windows 10 start menu fades and apps dull. (See picture) Does anyone have an idea on a fix?

Every time that I go on start the colours fade and dull to the point where you can't really see anything almost instantly. Microsoft expect me to pay for them to investigate and fix this issue which I think is wrong.
The PC is 24 hours old and has been fully updated, this problem occurred with the last update.

I may want you to provide us the KB number of the installed update.

To know the KB number of the installed update, follow the below steps:

• In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.
• In the left pane, click View update history.

Let us try to reinstall Display Adapters and check if it helps.

Step 1: Uninstall the Display Adapters

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
  
• Select Device Manager.
  
• Expand Display Adapters, double-click on the entry of display adapters.
  
• Click the tab Driver, click Uninstall.
  

Step 2: Visit the Manufactures website and download the latest driver.



Note: Before uninstalling the driver, please make sure that you have downloaded the latest Display Adapters from the manufacturer website.

Solution: Problem not resolved

Troubleshoot 2:

Hello,

Windows 10 has an option to pick colour from your desktop background . Kindly give it a try and See whether it works..

Step 1 : Press Windows + Q and type settings.

Step 2 : Click on Personalization.

Step 3 : Select Colors on the window that opens.

Step 4 : Turn off the Options that are in right pane (in the below picture it is on)





Solution: Problem still persists.

I thought updating Windows 10 to April update will solve this bug but unfortunately answer is NO.

Reset Acer Travelmate to factory settings


Hi all, I have an Acer Travelmate with Win10 (1607), I would like to save Win 10 to a stick, then reset the laptop back to factory settings and then reinstall Win10. There is no program on the laptop that requires saving. Any advice or suggestions, not to technical, would be very much appreciated, thanks Roy
