Windows 10: Laptop display is hazy like a white film is over it / low contrast after a Windows Update

I did a Windows update a few days ago, and the screen on my MSi Raider GE76 turned hazy after the restart. It is still functional, but I can feel my eyes straining. The "Restarting..." text and the MSi logo when first booted up as well as the BIOS are all fine, but the display turns hazy at the login screen, so it is not a hardware issue. Sorry for the belated response as I was in the meanwhile also trying some other solutions that came in connection with my not being able to delete any attachments to a mail in any mode. Here is an update:

I raised this issue for the first time on April 15, 2016. Several suggestions came in and I tried all of them but the problem remains unsolved.

The background: Recently I upgraded my 2 laptops (Acer 5750 & Sony Vaio 64-bit, i5) from the earlier Windows 7 to Windows 10. The Brightness of Display which was fully good earlier, became too low on Sony laptop
as if set to 15 or 20%, even when set to 100%. Being dim, it strains the eye. No such problem is there with Acer laptop.

Suggestions so far received which have been already implemented are:

Like 10 but that white background!

Well, I don't use a tablet.
My PC is listed in specs.
The OP was expressing a dislike of a white explorer background.
Someone else posted it was necessary to edit the registry to make changes.
Still others suggested it is a good idea to use a shell replacement ?
And another thought recompiling the explorer.exe binary using an editor makes sense ?
What ?

Using high contrast, it is easy
and a simple few clicks to make all kinds of changes.

It is also easy and simple to switch from default non colorized theme
to high contrast mode. (one click)

Excessive Brightness on Win 10 Display - Excess Whites

Hi All,

I have had a recent problem of having excess White light on the Display of my Dektop PC.

I have tried everything. Putting in low brightness and contrast through Monitor or through software makes it darker but then reduces the ability to read the text on screen properly. The fints becomes too dim/hazy (I have already set ClearType). The brightness of white light near blinds me.

I am on Dark Mode in Windows, but in the browser and elsewhere on Windows wherever a white background comes, I get an exploding white color.

I am on Win 10 - 2004 and I feel that this issue might have started with this update only - Not sure though.

I have 2 Dell monitors - U2718Q and P2715Q, and the same Issue happens on both. I checked from Dell folks and they said no Issues with the monitor very likely.

I have a NVidia GTX 1080 graphic card. I tried removing it and reverting to Microsoft Display Adapter but to no avail as same issue persists.

Dark mode pages work fine as expected.
