Windows 10: Laptop display stays blank after showing computer logo but after closing and opening lid,...

Hi Community, I just bought my new gaming laptop OMEN 16 last month and it worked fine until yesterday. After turning my laptop on the screen firstly shows OMEN logo and after the windows 11 welcome sound, my screen remains blank, I try adjust screen brightness and the screen brightness did turn up and down but still blank, I try connect the external monitor though HDMI and everything works fine and showing everything as it should but the internal screen STILL remains blank, then I try quickly close and open my laptop lid and see: the internal screen is working again. This happens every single

Close lid, extend display stays extended.

o I just got a small TV that I am using as a second monitor and have connected my Laptop to using an HDMI cable and want to make it so if I shut my lid the second monitor will stay extended instead of making it the primary display as if the laptop is
not there anymore. I can get this to work some of the time, but most of the time if I close my lid it will act as if the secondary display is now the primary display. Plugged in I have the power setting set so if I close the lid nothing happens. I'm not sure
why the sudden change and would love to be able to be able to close my lid as there is an obvious size/resolution difference between the two.

 

Turn off laptop display on lid close

I want my laptop display to turn off when I close the lid with the power connected. This has always been the default, but with Win 11, I cannot find a way to enable this behavior. There is no option in the power settings to turn off the display; only Do Nothing, Hibernate, and Shut Down.

This has to be made possible because without it, all applications that are open on the laptop screen stay on the laptop screen when the lid is closed.

I would suggest to try the following steps and check if it helps

  Press the Win Key + X to display the
  system menu.

  Select Control Panel.
  
• 
  Select Power Options.
  
• 
  On theleft side menu, select the Choose what closing the lid does option.
  
• 
  Look in the Power and sleep buttons and lid settings section.
  
• 
  Use the drop down menus in the
  When I close the lid section and select Do Nothing for both options.
