Laptop - HP Envy x360 Convertible I did a clean install of Windows 11 and after enabling memory integrity under core isolation in Windows security, the laptop will not shut down and just keeps restarting. Other details ** not sure if these details would help in troubleshooting, so just posting these here. Secure boot - OnData encryption - On No third party antivirus installed * even when I had third party antivirus installed previously before doing a clean install the issue persisted. Greatly appreciate any assistance.CheersMarlon

    Unable to enable memory integrity

I understand that you're having trouble enabling Memory Integrity on your system. Memory Integrity is a security feature in Windows that helps protect your computer from malware and other threats by ensuring the integrity of your system's memory.

If you've tried deleting the drivers identified in the scan and still can't enable Memory Integrity, here are some additional steps you can try:

    1. Check System Requirements: Ensure that your computer meets the system requirements for Memory Integrity. Your system should support Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) and have a compatible CPU.
    2. Update Your Drivers: Make sure that all your device drivers, including graphics drivers, are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause conflicts with Memory Integrity. You can usually update drivers through the device manager or by visiting the manufacturer's website.
    3. BIOS/UEFI Settings: Check your computer's BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure that Virtualization Technology (VT-x) is enabled. Different manufacturers may have different names for this feature, so consult your motherboard or computer manual for the exact setting.
    4. Hyper-V or Virtualization Software: If you have any other virtualization software installed, such as VMware or VirtualBox, they can interfere with Memory Integrity. Try disabling or uninstalling them temporarily and then attempt to enable Memory Integrity again.
    5. Security Software: Certain third-party security software, such as antivirus or firewall programs, can conflict with Memory Integrity. Temporarily disable or uninstall these security applications and check if Memory Integrity can be enabled.
    6. Windows Updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is fully updated. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates or fixes that can resolve compatibility issues.
    7. Reset Your Windows Security Policies: If nothing else works, you can try resetting your Windows security policies. To do this, open an elevated Command Prompt (right-click on Command Prompt and select "Run as administrator") and then run the following command:

This command will reset your security policies, which might help in enabling Memory Integrity.
After trying these steps, restart your computer and attempt to enable Memory Integrity again. If you're still facing issues, it's possible that there could be some underlying system or hardware problems, and you may need to consult with Microsoft support or your computer manufacturer for further assistance.

Windows 10 - Memory Integrity - Incompatible Drivers

    Hi Kurnn,

I haven't tried deleting the files as of yet because I need my laptop for work, and I don't want to risk causing any stability issues in the meantime.

It's all a bit puzzling because my memory integrity setting was enabled before I intentionally disabled it for 64-bit virtualisation.

I'm also sure the drivers listed above were present whilst Memory Integrity was enabled before. I suspect there will be no conflict when I get the setting re-enabled. Could there be a solution which involves temporarily disabling the drivers so my system doesn't detect them whilst I re-enable memory integrity?

Autoruns lists each driver with a checkbox alongside, but disabling them had no effect, and my system still detects the conflicting drivers.

I appreciate the suggestion, but could there be another way, before I resort to deleting system files?

    Thanks!

    Memory Integrity Won't Turn On

    Thanks for your reply.

I've joined the Windows Insider Programme and updated my laptop to 22H2 as this appeared to be the only thing listed that I didn't currently have. It's installed, but when I tried to switch on Memory Integrity from the settings it still scans for incompatible drivers, doesn't seem to find any and then says it needs to restart. And again once I press restart it gets to the Medion logo (just before the windows screen appears) but just hangs there.

On the suggestion you've linked above, Option 2 is "Refresh or Reinstall Windows Defender". Now if I follow this step and delete the Windows Defender folder in the registry as suggested, do I need to reinstall or will Windows do this automatically when I restart? I don't want to go deleting the folder and then finding that I've shot myself in the foot so to speak.

    **Update**

I tried Option 2 and unfortunately this hasn't worked either, my laptop still hangs on the Medion logo without loading Windows after reset. I have to hold the power button to turn off and restart, then it loads Windows succesfully but still with Memory Integrity off.

Option 3 doesn't seem to be the problem as it's not detecting any incompatible drivers.
