    Laptop Fingerprint Sensor does not work after a clean installation of Windows 10


    I recently replaced my laptop's SSD and did a clean installation of Windows 10. Previously, the fingerprint sensor worked without any problems with windows hello, but now windows does not detect it. Below are some screenshots.

    I tried consulting some forums that told me to updating the drivers but Windows claims it is up to date.

    I don't know what to do anymore... but I want to use my fingerprint sensor again.

    Windows doesn't recognize my laptop's fingerprint sensor.

    Hello,

    I just bought a used HP elitebook 840 G2 which has a fingerprint sensor, I tried to link it to windows hello but couldn't. Tried to check if my fingerprint sensor drivers are up to date but couldn't even find one so I installed it from the windows website.
    Now that I installed it I still can't find it on my drivers list and windows hello still can't detect a fingerprint sensor on my laptop. Happy holidays and merry christmas to everyone.

    Fingerprint sensor not working

    I just updated to the newest version of Windows. This current laptop is only 2 weeks old and when I got it, the fingerprint sensor was working just fine. Now, after the update, the fingerprint sensor doesn't work. When I got to settings, it says we couldn't
    find a fingerprint sensor compatible with Windows Hello even though it worked before the update. How would I fix this? I've tried restarting but it doesn't work.

    Fingerprint sensor disabled by Windows 10 update 1803

    I recently installed update 1803 on my HP Windows 10 laptop. The fingerprint sensor stopped working. I don't know if was turned off or disabled or what.

    Is there a way I can fix it? I found a thread about it here, but I'm not sure what they they are suggesting.
