Windows 10: Laptop freezes and screen fades to black.

I have a refurbished Dell Latitude 7390. It works great, until recently it began to freeze, and the screen would begin to fade to black. I have tried cleaning it. I have run multiple system scans and diagnostics and even scanned for malware but that still hasn't fixed it. I'm starting to think it's a hardware problem, but I don't know what would be wrong. I can provide more information or specs if necessary. Please help!

No screen fade to black effect after upgrading to 1903

I have noticed that the screen no longer fades to black when switching off after upgrading to 1903. There used to be a short fade effect when the screen turned off such as when putting the computer on sleep. The screen now just instantly goes off. I thought it was something to do with my laptop at first but it's the same thing on 3 different makes of laptop. They all used to fade to black but that now this no longer happens. Why has this effect been removed? Is it possible at all to bring the effect back?

Toshiba Laptop Black Screen

I have a Toshiba Laptop, Was reinstalling windows 7 on it last night left it doing the updates then shut it down. Turned it on this this afternoon only to find the laptop screen is Black and also there is a burning smell coming from the Fan.

I connected the Laptop to a external monitor that is fine, Can go into bios, Windows boots up fine Etc.
Just took apart the laptop earlier to check all the cables where in correctly, Checked the motherboard over for any damage, burnt bits but but found nothing. Just put it back together now but im still getting this burning smell and i still cant use the laptop screen only a external screen.

I Tried Pressing FN+F5 to switch to the laptop screen, But still black screen. Any Suggestions please ?
