Windows 10: Laptop freezes dead: associated with error 0xC000009A and warning on driver \Driver\WudfRd

At random times, my laptop screen simply turns off and the computer becomes unresponsive to anything - the only option is manual shut down via power button. It can happen once in a week or more than once in the same day as it did today, and I can't find a pattern for what may be triggering it.Looking into the Event Viewer I found one error that shows up associated with this event right after the Critical 41 event of the manual shut down: "HAP AcpCreateAudioEngine fail with status 0xC000009A"Event Properties:System - Provider [ Name] IntcAzAudAddService - Eve

Driver environment:
Windows 10 x64 desktop
I have a wireless Microsoft mouse
I do not have a Microsoft wireless keyboard
I have the associated transceiver that should work for both (if installed)

This problem started when my Microsoft wireless mouse driver was updated to version 1.0.102.0 (dated 3/16/2016).
This driver update also appears to be responsible for a few other device errors as well:









I believe this new driver assumes you have a wireless keyboard (without checking) and just tries to load a driver for it.

My temporary fix is/was to rollback the driver to the previous Microsoft version 10.0.10586.0 (dated 6/21/2006):









Anyone else run across this condition or have a known solution using the latest driver?

Hi, i have been experiencing the driver verifier dma violation bsod several times by now in my hp laptop. My event viewer shows me the following warnings and i don't really know if they are related:

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device USB\VID_04F3&PID_0C00\5&22b8dd10&0&7.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device {DD8E82AE-334B-49A2-AEAE-AEB0FD5C40DD}\DetectionVerification\5&2fe66db4&0&0.

The driver \Driver\WudfRd failed to load for the device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_9A03&SUBSYS_87FE103C&REV_01\3&11583659&0&20.

The wudfrd.dll file and the windows drivers foundation are missing.

I alredy tried to delete and autenticate the .dll file without success.

I should also note that I already ran several hardware tests (extensive tests) without finding any error and reinstalled my OS twice without success in fixing my problem.

I have finally cleared most of Window 10 issues with your kind help.

My last issue is the above warning which I have had since Aug 2015.

Is it at all possible to identify the port and device to see if I can clear this problem? or anything else you suggest will be appreciated.
