Windows 10: Laptop freezes network and sound adapter stop working Event 129

I've been having this problem for a year now. My laptop randomly freezes for like 60 seconds and then starts working again and sometimes I have to reset the laptop, when this happens, on some occasions the network and sound adapter stop working.I've factory reset the laptop like 4 times and every time the problem fixes and the laptop works normally for 2 or 3 months and then the laptop eventually starts freezing again. First it starts freezing for like 10 seconds once per week and after sometime it happens multiple times a day and that's where I am right now, I wanted to ask for help before I

Event ID 129 - storahci resetting raidport0

I have been trying to fix this for a few days now and I finally found the solution.

Background:

• HP envy m6-k022dk
• legacy mode
• Sandisk X210 512 GB SSD
• installing Windows 10 took me over 35 hours due to this issue. The install disk has the problem
• My computer would freeze up and update frames every couple seconds
• getting "storahci resetting raidport0" in event viewer

The first and more obvious steps were to set power mode to high performance from Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options . This had to be done upon Windows 10 install even in order to make Windows work without freezing. Now this only fixed my issue
when my laptop was plugged in but as soon as I unplugged it, the computer freezed up instantly.

• go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442\0b2d69d7-a2a1-449c-9680-f91c70521c60 and change the "Attributes" key value from 1 (default;
  hidden) to 2 (exposed). [This will expose "AHCI Link Power Management - HIPM/DIPM" under Hard Disk power settings]
• go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings\0012ee47-9041-4b5d-9b77-535fba8b1442\dab60367-53fe-4fbc-825e-521d069d2456 and change the "Attributes" key value from 1 (default;
  hidden) to 2 (exposed). [This will expose "AHCI Link Power Management - Adaptive" under Hard Disk power settings]
• Now go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options >> Change Plan Settings >> Change Advanced Power Settings
  

• Under Hard Disk, expand "AHCI Link Power Management..."
• Change "On Battery" and "Plugged In" both to "Active"

Now it should not freeze. The article has 1 other step that I did not do because I thought it was not necessary. Now Microsoft please fix this so it does not take 2 days to install Windows when it only should take 30 mins to hour 1/2

Which network adapter?

My friend recently came over to my house with his laptop. Before I could connect him to my lan he detected several wireless networks in the area. I want to connect to these wireless networks, but I don't know what kind of adapter I need. I searched his laptop model and this is his network adapter http://www.intel.com/network/connectivity/products/wireless/wireless_n/overview.htm

It seems he could get both N, and G signals

what would any of you guys suggest?
