Windows 10: laptop freezes so much every day its so annoying

my laptop freezes atleast 5 times a day and its really annoying. I don't have any viruses or malware on my laptop, the only apps that I've installed that run in the background are opera gx and discord. My drivers are all up to date and my laptop rarely crashed until now. I literally don't understand why/how its freezing so muchdevice: Vivobook_ASUSLaptop X412DAP_F412DAsome information that might explain why its happening:a year ago I got this laptop and it worked nice for a few months before it had to fix disk errors. The problem was that it wouldn't get past stage 2 and didn't get anywhere af

Andre, thanks for your suggestions. I performed all steps as you listed and it appears that there were

some problems that have been corrected. I will let you know in a day or so if the "freeze" problem

occurs again. Many thanks for your help --- this took longer than I expected!
