    Laptop freezes while sleeping


    Hi I have W10 ver 21H1 (OS build 19043.1165) on an Acer Nitro 5 Spin laptop. My issue is that the laptop freezes during sleep. This happens 99% of the time. I don't know exactly how long it takes to freeze but I know it doesn't happen right away. My guess is hours. When I put the laptop to sleep before I go to bed, I have no applications running and the freeze happens whether I have a Task Scheduler task scheduled to run that early morning or not. I return and find the laptop power is on (not in sleep mode), I can hear it running (fans I think or maybe the HDD?), the keyboard lights when I hit it but the screen and the rest of the computer is unresponsive. It is completely dark. The keyboard or the mouse has no effect on the computer. The only way I can get it to respond is if I hold the power button for about 10 seconds to turn it off, let it sit and turn the power back on again. A few times when I have done this I find that the system clock is not correct. Don't know if that is a clue or not. I have attached the requested files. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. Dave

    Hi Aditya,

    Thank you for your reply. I have tried the two steps (turning of Hybrid sleep and Fast startup) you suggested but to no avail. Okay, for your two questions:

    1. My laptop is a HP Pavilion 14-bf101tx, and currently running Windows 10 1903 (upgrading from 1809).
    2. Nope. No error messages. I suppose the boot process was successful, however, my battery was reduced. That's why I suggest the post title as "Hibernating changes to sleep behaviour" because the battery level reduction looks like sleep behaviour.

    Please inform me of any diagnostics information you might need. Thank you for your kind assistance.

    system freezes up in sleep mode

    system freezes up in sleep mode, one monitor on and the other a sleep. Can not wake up system without hard reboot. Any suggestions?
