Windows 10: Laptop freezes

Hi all


im having problems with my laptop. When i turn it on and i login in to windows, i click on any icon or program it says not responding and irs frozen like that. Sometimes the screen just goes black while its frozen and other times it eventually comes back to normal but as i click again the same thing happends. Its really slow too. Ive tried resetting it and reloaded windows and it still doesnt help. This is my second acer espire as the first one did the same thing and they repalced,something about the harddrive being corrupt. Is there any way of fixing these issues?My warranty is up so i cant have it replaced. I was thinking maybe this is happening because of the ram but i dont no any technical details about computers.its really frustrating when it freezes and i dont no what to do.
