    Laptop frequently goes to laptop screen only then back to monitor and laptop screen.


    I have been working with my IT department to figure out why my laptop will randomly, at first power up for the day, start with both my monitor and laptop screens displaying in extended display mode, but then suddenly switch back to only the laptop screen. After a few seconds it will revert to the monitor and laptop again.Basically, it looks like the laptop disconnects from the monitor and then displays only on its screen. After 1-2 seconds, it blanks, switches to the extended display desktop, then the monitor comes back. It ONLY happens in the beginning of the day, when I first get my laptop s

    Laptop with broken screen How much?

    I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

    Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd

    Toshiba Laptop Black Screen

    I have a Toshiba Laptop, Was reinstalling windows 7 on it last night left it doing the updates then shut it down. Turned it on this this afternoon only to find the laptop screen is Black and also there is a burning smell coming from the Fan.

    I connected the Laptop to a external monitor that is fine, Can go into bios, Windows boots up fine Etc.
    Just took apart the laptop earlier to check all the cables where in correctly, Checked the motherboard over for any damage, burnt bits but but found nothing. Just put it back together now but im still getting this burning smell and i still cant use the laptop screen only a external screen.

    I Tried Pressing FN+F5 to switch to the laptop screen, But still black screen. Any Suggestions please ?

    How to disable a laptop screen?

    Windows 7, right clicking the desktop and selecting screen resolution. I selected the laptop screen and under "Multiple Displays" selected "Disconnect this display", so now I have it showing on only 1 external monitor, nothing else. At this point I thought I should be able to extend to the other monitor, but when I do it gives me unable to save display settings.

    When I try and do it from nVidia control panel, there are five options...Laptop Display + Monitor 1, Monitor 1 + Laptop Display, Laptop Display + Monitor 2, Monitor 2 + Laptop Display, and "My display is not shown in the list"
