Windows 10: Laptop getting overheated during charging and plugged in but not during unpluged

My laptop is getting overheeated..... So the problem is that 2 days ago when this prob started... I got my laptop to charging but the charger wasnt working at all that time. But after some time it started working but I noticed a problem that is the charger module is getting overheated also area around the charging port of laptop is getting over heated too... Even if it is Turned off, it gets overheat during charging in like 2 minutes... But it never got this much heated during normal working on it during charging and using simultaneously.. this overheating only started 2 days ago.. also my lap

Thank you all for the quick replies! I started with unplugging the charger from the power strip, then unplugging the cord and finally unplugging it from the laptop (my charger is comprised of two pieces). Checked the connection and plugged the two pieces
back together. I plugged the charger back into the laptop. Turned the laptop on, still wasn't charging. Unplugged the charger from the laptop again without powering in off... plugged it back in and it started charging again!

I'll keep all of your suggestions in case it happens again, especially running a battery report.

To resolve this issue, please follow these steps:

• Unplug Laptop
• Remove the Battery
• Plug in Laptop and turn on the laptop
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and uninstall all instances of Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
• Shut down Laptop and unplug it
• Insert Battery and plug in the laptop
• Start the Laptop

Laptop overheated while plugged in

Laptop overheating while plugged in but it works fine when unplugged..
Anyone has any solution for this??

Till yesterday everything was fine suddenly this weird problem has occurred
