LAPTOP Gigabyte G5 KF Playback Device Headset not getting separated from Speakers RealtekR...

When I plug in my headset on the audio jack it asks me if what I plugged in is Headset or Headphones, I choose one and look at the volume icon sound output on the taskbar to try and switch between the speakers and headphones but only Speakers is there. Both headphones and speakers are working, it's just that I need to switch between them without unplugging my headphones. I tried uninstalling and deleting the Realtek drivers and downloading the audio driver on Gigabyte's website, but it still doesn't work. I know it can work like how I intend to because I somehow glitched it before when I ins

  2. Headset replaces the speakers

When i connect my headset it "replaces" the speakers.

Headphones do not occure as a separate devices in playback devices(disabled devices too), but they start working INSTEAD of speakers.

So this is how it looks like:

I have my Speakers in the playback devices. I connect headset - microphone appears in the recording devices, but nothign changes in the playback devices, howerver, the sound is now being run through the headphones and i cannot make it run through speakers unless
i disattach the headphone cable. How to fix it?

I want my headphones listed as a separate device, so i can run different sound though speakers and headphones, for instance - games and communication.

Realtek is not compatible for my device(Gigabyte G5 KE)

I didn't understand what you meant.

The driver I suggested is for the model "G5 KE". Is this your PC model?

On the Gigabyte website, I noticed that there are also the models "G5 ME" and "G5 GE".

Audio playback through USB headset and Speakers

    Hi Max,

Your USB headset and your speaker need to be configured properly in order for you to use them at the same time. To do that, please follow the steps below:

    • In the taskbar, right-click the Sound icon and click Sounds.
    • Under the Playback tab, do a right-click on your speaker and click
      Set as Default Device
      .
    • Click Apply, then OK.
    • Open the Sound window again.
    • Under the Playback tab, do a right-click on your headset and click
      Set as Default Communication Device
      .
    • Move to the Recording tab.
    • Right-click Microphone and click Properties.
    • Click the Listen tab and check the box for Listen to this device.
    • Under Playback through this device, select your headset from the list.
    • Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, please check if both devices are working at the same time.

    Let us know the result.

    Regards.
