Windows 10: Laptop goes to sleep when turned on, requires closing the panel to power up

Laptop: Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH05 i5-10300H GeForce 1650


When I set the display mode settings in the Nvidia ControlPanel into Nvidia GPU only, every time I boot up the laptop it goes to sleep assoon as the Lenovo logo shows up. I will then need to close the laptoppanel/screen and then open it up again in order for it to power up and notsleep which will then let me log in. This does not occur when I use theOptimus/Auto-select option. I don't want to use Auto-select as it messes up my games specifically Valorant as it causes the game to have a black screen when itchanges from Optimus to Nvidia GPU automatically. Also, the display settings show that I am using 2 monitors when I only have one but I have 2 GPUs which are Nvidia and Intel. Is there any other way to fix this? Anyhelp will be appreciated.

• Did you make any recent changes prior to the issue?
• Are you facing this issue specifically when playing the specific Game?
• Are you facing this issue after any recent updates installed?

This issue might have caused due to the power settings for the closing of LID is set to sleep mode.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Press Windows + X keys and select the Control Panel.
• Select Power options by searching in search box.
• Right side select Change Plan setting next to the power plans.
• Select the Change advanced Power plan settings.
• Under the list select and expand Power buttons and lid.
• Select Turn off the display under the drop down of setting.
• Click Apply. Ok.
• Close the LID and Check if the issue resolves.

Can't close laptop without monitor sleeping.

A factor why your laptop goes to sleep when you close the lid is due to the configuration of the power settings. To configure the power settings to do nothing when you close the lid, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + R > Type powercfg.cpl in the box > Hit
  OK.
• From the left side panel, select Choose what closing the lid does > Under
  Power button and lid settings set the options beside When I close the lid: for
  On battery and Plugged in to Do nothing.
• Click Save changes.

Laptop dies every time it goes to sleep on battery.

Updated to Windows 10 a few days ago. It seems to be working fine, but every time I close the lid or leave it open for long enough that it goes to sleep, the screen just dies. The power button remains lit, but the PC is just completely unresponsive. I
have to just hold the power button until the laptop turns off, and then turn it back on again. Any suggestions?
