Windows 10: Laptop has no line/mic input socket only USB

    Laptop has no line/mic input socket only USB


    My Lenovo Thinkpad, running Windows 10 does not have a line in or mic input socket. I have a line output signal I need to feed into it to use OBS Studio. How can I feed that signal in via a USB port. I have tried both a simple converter Sabrent USB External Stereo Sound Adapter and a Behringer UCA202 U-Control but both a bit noisy.

    There is one Line/Mic input to a Laptop, many have just a combo socket(2 variations of TRRS) some have a separate Line/Mic input, anything more than that requires additional hardware like a USB connected Sound Card.

    How can I input audio into my laptop

    Hi, I have been using my old tower computer which has two audio inputs, one from a microphone and another from a 3.5 mm line input socket. I do quite a lot of sound recording and editing. On my new laptop there is no provision for a line input. Is it possible to input audio via a usb port or other input, the mic input doesn't seem to work. Gordon.
    P.S. I am using Windows 10.
