    Laptop heats up when left alone


    I have a new Thinkpad E14 Gen 4 Intel i7-1260P, 24 GB RAM, no d-GPU. I'm running Windows 11 Pro.If I put my laptop into my bag, it often heats up really badly in a matter of half an hour or so. The worst part is that problem seems to be intermittent, so it's hard to debug.What I've figured outtake this with a grain of salt, I could easily be wrongMy suspicion by looking into Task Manager and a probably related video by LTT; see link below is "Antimalware Service Executable." With that in mind, the obvious solution is to turn of the built-in antimalware Windows Defender/Security, but I'

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
