Windows 10: Laptop isn't able to update Window 10 most recent patch

I tried to update my laptop and it's been twice in a row that it's stuck at around ~80% for a few hours so I would force shut down. After that, turning the laptop back on the screen would flashes a few time and then freezes at log in screen so I have to force shut down and turn on again. On the third time of force shut down and then turning back on the blue screen would appear with a message "It looks like Windows didn't load correctly". The only way for me to fix it is to uninstall the previous update option from click the further advanced option -> troubleshoot -> more option. I'm wondering if update is necessary and if yes how am I able to update if this keeps happening?

Printer isn´t working after latest update.

After the latest update from Windows, my Canon Pixma ip6600 printer isnt working. In Device Manager it shows up as working properly but when I go to print it isn´t listed as an option in any programs. Troubleshoot suggests it´s a USB 2 printer on a USB
3 port and that that´s the problem but that cant be since it worked fine before the update. I´ve tried to uninstall and plug it back in but that doesn´t work either.

Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
