Windows 10: Laptop keeps crashing/blue screen/restarting - Kernel-Power Critical Error

This occurs almost exclusively when playing games. What usually happens is the screen stutters/freezes for a few seconds, followed by an automatic restart/blue screen. The blue screen stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION. When the blue screen appears it gets stuck, then I need to hard reset, long pressing the power button.In Event Viewer: Kernel-Power, Event ID: 41, Task Category: 63, BugcheckCode: 340This is what almost always shows up in the Event Viewer, however, there were times in which the BugcheckCode was different, but I cannot view them since I reset Windows.This is a new laptop: Le

Thankyou very much for your reply. In relation to your first post, I have carried out steps 10-22 (apart from step 15, I will attempt to leave it running with this tonight). The screenshots are attached. I have also uninstalled the programmes detailed above. Unfortunately, as my laptop is a custom built from PCSpecialist, they do not provide BIOS updates anywhere easily accessible. I will phoen them today and see if there are any updates.

The kernel power event ID 41 error occurs when the computer is shut down, or it restarts unexpectedly. When a computer that is running Windows starts, a check is performed to determine whether the computer was shut down cleanly. If the computer was not shut
down cleanly, a Kernel Power Event 41 message is generated.



Try this, see if it works for you:

• Go to "Settings"
• Select "System"
• Select "Power and Sleep"
• Select "Additional Power Settings"
• Select "Choose what the power buttons do"
• Select "Change settings currently available"
• Ensure that "Turn on fast start up" is deselected (unticked)
• Click on "Save Changes"

Restart your computer after performing the steps.

2. Did you make any recent hardware or software changes on the computer?

Method 1:

I suggest you download and install all the available Windows Update. Also install all the latest device drivers from the computer manufacturer website.
