Windows 10: Laptop keeps crashing but I want to try to save files and programs.

I'm a not completely computer illiterate but I am a bit of a noob when it comes to technical stuff. I am hoping a kind expert could guide me through repairing windows because I been doing some reading about ISO repair and it's not 100% clear to me. I have access to another laptop and a USB drive.

For those who want more information about the problem:

Basically about a week ago I updated intel drivers as prompted to me when I ran a scan and it said I needed to restart my computer for the changes to take place. Initial start up animation came up but then it went black. Nothing on the screen. As if the graphic card update didn't install properly.

I uninstalled the updates in safe mode and restored it to how it was and it worked great. Now fast forward a week later to the next time I came to use my laptop, same black screen issue. I tried the same thing but it didn't work. Tried to restore to an older saved copy of my PC but now it's worse, it crashes on startup every time. I was going to try to reinstall windows while saving my files until I came across a post where someone said downloading a ISO repair file would allow me to possibly keep all my programs.

I've just executed all of the above commands. No issues were detected with the scannow. None of the above steps have resolved my problem. Very perplexing what is causing the problem on the laptop but not on the desktop pc.

This issue may happen due to system file corruption. I suggest you to run System file checker. System File checker (SFC) scan is done to check if there are any corrupted system files that could be causing this issue. Kindly follow
the below given steps:

• Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
• In Command prompt type sfc/scannow and press enter.
• Restart the computer.

If no corrupted system files were found in the previous state, then I suggest you to try the following steps:

• Open command prompt by pressing Windows key + X and selecting “Command prompt admin”.
• In command prompt, type the following commands and press Enter after each command:

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

• Close the command prompt and restart the PC and check if it works.
