    wifi issues, constant ping spikes

hello, i am having issues with my wifi connection on a brand new laptop. i keep getting constant ping spikes that look like this:

Laptop keeps disconnecting from wifi in the first 5 minutes and random constant ping spike dd767038-14f9-4ef3-a769-d072cc9e21f9?upload=true.png

to ensure it is not the problem of the wifi itself, i checked using the same wifi on another laptop and the ping is stable. to ensure it is not the problem of anything i installed, i reset my laptop but the problem remained. i even tried using another wifi network and still got constant ping spikes while the wifi works fine on other devices.

i have the asus rog strix g15 2022 with the mediatek wifi 6e mt7922 network adapter on windows 11, i already tried resetting my network adapters but it didn't fix the issue. i've sent in the device for repair but this is still happening. any idea how to fix?

my son laptiop wifi disconnect after 5 minutes

    • If you have an identical laptop try comparing the wifi and security settings of the one that does not disconnect with the one that does. If you find any differences change the settings of the one that does not work to the one that does.
@Samuria : If you have any suggestions please reply.

Windows 10 - Constant Ping Spikes Every 5 seconds

For months now my Windows 10 CyberPower PC (purchased in 2021) has experienced intermittent ping spikes that disrupts video calls, hangs webpages, and make online gaming impossible. I have replaced the modem, router, wifi adapter, and had the cable lines inspected by a tech. The issue persists.

The spikes seem to occur at random but I can also trigger them by going to a webpage that asks to use my location (via browser). Upon agreeing, the lag spikes begin and persist, sometimes even after closing the browser and restarting. Other times, just playing online games seems to trigger the spikes.

Below is a list of what I've already tried. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated bc this causing me no end of headaches.

    Attempted Solutions

    • Hardware: Replaced modem, router, wifi adapter, and had cable lines inspected by a tech.
    • Software: in-place upgrade to Windows 10; various command prompt/network reset procedures
I have tried all of these steps:

    Click Start
    Type: cmd
    Right click CMD
    Click Run as administrator

At the command prompt, type each command then hit Enter:

    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /registerdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    NETSH winsock reset catalog
    NETSH int ipv4 reset reset.log
    NETSH int ipv6 reset reset.log

    Hit Enter
    Exit the prompt then restart

Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Troubleshoot
    Scroll down
    Click Network adapters
    Click Run the Troubleshooter

When complete, restart to see if the problem is resolved.

    If that does not work

    Press Windows key + X
    Click Device Manager
    Expand Network Adapters
    Select the Network card listed,
    Select Update Driver
This should give you a choice of drivers - select the oldest one
Wait a few minutes while it installs the old driver

    or

    press Windows key + X
    Click Device Manager
    Expand Network adapters
    Right click your adapter
    Click Uninstall

Exit Device Manager, restart. Windows 10 should detect the network adapter then reinstall it. Check if you can connect and browse.

    also try:

Open Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Status

Scroll to the bottom then click Network reset.

Click Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks > select the wireless network
    Click Forget

    Restart

Click the Network icon in the Taskbar
    Try connecting again.

Disable Energy Efficient Ethernet in "Client for Microsoft Networks"
    Press Windows key + X
Click Device Manager, expand Network Adapters, right-click the adapter > Properties > Power Management, and then clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
