  1. Laptop keeps locking itself (Win10) (Updates Issue) (really really important)

My friend has the same Issue Ive had months ago: every 5 Minutes his Laptop keeps locking itself, all the power settings are on "never"

Laptop is brand new, (mine is several years old), memory, graphics card and hard drive is fine, additional power plans dont change anything, no auto lock stuff is on

It IS (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) an Issue with the Windows Updates, he had it before but with more updates it happend less frequently; when I had the Issue, I had to undo the whole ass Update and didnt update my Laptop in MONTHS, ergo some Software stop working, but better than this annoying ass bug

He updated it last a few days ago

Ive googled and none of the rare (!!!!) Solutions work, hell barley anyone mentions it. Support also didnt answer

    Please help

Let's run Win10 on really really old hardware

    Specs:

    • Intel Celeron E3200 @ 2.4 GHz - 1MB Cache
    • 2GB DDR2 @ 800MHz
    • Intel G31 Express Chipset
    • Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6V160E0 - 8MB Cache - Sata II - 7200 rpm
    • Windows 10 Pro 64bit 10162
Runs surprisingly nicely; not noticeably worse than Win 7 -- feels a bit more snappier and responsive. I set a fixed size swapfile on the non-system drive and have not experienced any thrashing/lock-ups due to the low memory.

Only issue compared to Win 7 is the CPU usage is higher when playing video in Firefox, this causes a heat increase and the fan to kick in to an audible level, which is midly irritating. I have all the fan and CPU settings set to lower CPU usage and favour quiet fan.

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

I got Windows 10 successfully running on my ThinkPad T43.

(Sorry about the pink screen, the backlight is shot)
It has a Pentium M (which is essentially an enhanced Pentium 3 with NX bit support) running at 1.87 GHz and is 32 bit only. I have 2 gigs of RAM installed which is the maximum the chipset supports (Intel 915GM).

Things that work out of the box

    • USB
    • Built-in trackpad and keyboard
    • PCMCIA
    • ExpressCard
    • UltraBay

Things that can be fixed with drivers
    • Sound
    • Bluetooth
    • WiFi
    • ThinkPad macro keys
    • Ethernet
    • Modem

    Things that will never work
    • Graphics. Sadly, the 915GM cannot support WDDM due to hardware limitations (See here: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/...000005550.html) and since Windows 8 dropped support for XPDM drivers, we cannot get any acceleration. On the other hand, if you have a higher end T43 with a Radeon GPU, WDDM is fully supported.
