    Laptop keeps sleeping/locking every minute, settings won't change


    My HP Notebook recently encountered this issue where if left idle, the screen will turn off after one minute of inactivity. Some times it's just my laptop going to sleep and will resume if i press any button or move the mouse, or sometimes I have to log in all over again. I've tried various solutions that people have suggested but none have worked. My screensaver settings are permanently set to 1 minute, and if I change them they just instantly revert back to that. The only way that it stops doing this is if i'm watching a video. Please help because this is very very annoying and I don't reall

    Laptop going to sleep/ screen locking after short period

    Hi

    Hopefully someone can help, I'm about to lose my mind with this.

    My laptop screen sleeps or locks after just a minute or 2.

    I have been into the Control Panel and changed all the settings regarding power options and sleeping so that they are all set to 30 minutes. However this still hasn't solved the issue.

    Any other suggestions?

    Hi Sebastian,

    Your PC might be set to sleep once it is idle for 5mins. For you to adjust this setting, we suggest looking into the
    Power Options advanced settings. Follow these steps:

    • Open Control Panel and click on Power Options.
    • On your Preferred plans, click Change plan settings.
    • Click Change advanced power settings.
    • Expand Sleep and System unattended sleep timeout.
    • Set how many minutes you want your system to be left idle before it goes to sleep.
