Windows 10: Laptop Keyboard Not Working: Missing HID Keyboard Devices and Unknown USB Decive

Hello all,About a couple of weeks ago, my laptop ASUS Zephyrus G15 Model GU502GV started experiencing a reoccurring issue where the keyboard will just cease in its functionality. At first I thought it was a hardware issue as a couple of the backlight LEDs had malfunctioned, but I do not really care too much about that. Upon doing some digging, I found that in the device manager, whenever the issue occurs, two of the three HID Keyboard Devices within the device manager would disappear from the list. This also seemed to be in conjunction with an "Unkown USB device" listed error code 43. The

Built in keyboard not working

After setting up my account and stuff I went back to the Device Manager and there’s an Unknown Device listed that wasn’t there before. I’m assuming that it’s the keyboard, but I’m not entirely sure what to do with it. This device, as well as “USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller” have exclamation points over them.

I’ll check the ribbon cable if I can find the tools to open up the laptop.

 

HID Keyboard device deleted

Hello,

I accidentally deleted my laptop HID Keyboard Device from Device manager. I have tried everything to reinstall but fails. Surprisingly the FN commands work but not the actually typing keys. I have no idea what to do.

Before i deleted the HID Keyboard device, there used to be 3 HID Keyboard devices, now there is only 2.

 

my lenovo laptop keyboard works to log on. after that, does not work.

The keyboard driver listed was - Standard PS/2 keyboard. HID Keyboard Device was not listed. Uninstalled PS/2 keyboard restarted and the problem remains. Also the "num lock" will not release. But now a keyboard attached to the usb port works again.
