Windows 10: Laptop “locks” 20 minutes after I connect it to an external monitor

My laptop works completely fine without plugging it into the external monitor. However, once I plug it into my monitor using a HDMI cable, everytime I play a game like Valorant, it “locks” heard ppl say this is just the new hibernate after 10 mins of gameplay mid-game. I’ve turned all the power settings to never and changed the critical power action to do nothing, would it be that my battery isn’t powerful enough to handle my monitor and playing games on it at the same time? I plug in my laptop to its power source permanently, but theres still a battery which can’t be taken out easily inside the laptop

Laptop External Monitor Problem

A have a HP ProBook 450 G2(2015) connected via HDMI to an external monitor LGM2762D
I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10approximately two months ago
Every morning when I start the laptop itappears to take approximately 20 minutes to synchronize with my externalmonitor
I have tried everything in the meantime toresolve this problem:-
· Upgraded Graphic card drivers -Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500
· Replaced HDMI cable
· Rebooted laptop
· Disconnected monitor power andHDMI connection
· Connected laptop via HDMI tothree other monitors(TV’s etc), same problem.?
My only current solution appears to bepower up the laptop in the morning and return in 20 minutes when laptop has synchronizedwith my LG monitor and I can therefore see what I am doing
Prior to upgrading toWindows 10, I had no such problem with Windows 7.?
I would be mostgrateful for any suggestions from this forum please

Surface Laptop 3 with external monitor

Hi All,

Has anyone come across an issue with an external monitor blacking out while connected to a Surface Laptop 3? I have the laptop connected to a widescreen laptop with the Surface Dock. Both work fine however, once every hour or so the external monitor blacks out and comes back.

I've completed the following:

• Updated laptop drivers and firmware
  • Updated monitor drivers
  • Swapped out monitor

Laptop screen will only work once it has been connected to an external monitor, even if that monitor is switched off

Having an issue whereby I cannot see or use the Laptop screen without first plugging it into an external monitor.

• 
  Upon Windows startup unconnected to any external monitor
  
  • 
    DELL opening logo can be seen on Laptop screen
    
  • 
    Screen goes black with backlight
    
  • 
    Mouse pointer can be seen onscreen if moved to the right, as though a second monitor is connected on the left hand side.
    
  • 
    Attempting to press enter and type in password in the correct order as though the screen was functional does not do anything
    
• 
  Upon connecting to an external monitor (even if switched off)
  
  • 
    Laptop screen will suddenly appear, all functionality restored
    
• 
  Upon disconnecting again from external monitor
  
  • 
    Laptop screen remains visible and functional
    
  • 
    Lock screen /unlock screen no problem
    
• 
  Upon shutting and opening the laptop lid
  
  • 
    Screen black with backlight, same results as windows startup, mouse pointer can be seen and moved as though a second screen is connected on the left
    
  • 
    No functionality until reconnected, even for a second, with an external monitor.
